Nestled along the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Northern Colorado, Loveland’s small town charm and breathtaking views make this city an ideal place to live. Loveland is known as the “Sweetheart City” for its Valentine’s Day re-mailing program, where volunteers stamp and re-mail Valentines greetings for sweethearts worldwide. Loveland is located 46 miles north of Denver, has convenient access to Interstate 25 and provides a gateway into the Rocky Mountains via the Big Thompson Valley. Loveland is situated between three major Colorado universities: University of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado and Colorado State University. In addition, Loveland’s Thompson School District is a state leader in K-12 education.


The city of Loveland is nationally known as an art community. The Benson Sculpture Garden features 130 sculptures in a single location. Art festivals, live music and theatre are scheduled throughout the year. 


Loveland is the perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts who will enjoy access to the Rocky Mountains and The Big Thompson River. Fly fishing and river rafting are favorite pastimes along the Big Thompson. Boyd Lake State Park and Carter Lake near Loveland are great locations for swimming, boating, water skiing, camping and more. A popular hiking destination, the Devil’s Backbone trail winds around the geologic landmark featuring rock formations and wildlife viewing. Loveland has three public golf courses, sixteen miles of biking paths and 27 public parks.


Loveland’s small town feel is coupled with the amenities of a larger city. Historic Downtown is home to many local businesses including art galleries, a museum, a theatre, a diverse selection of restaurants and a variety of retail stores. The newly opened Promenade Shops at Centerra offers big box stores like Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and many other retail choices. The Promenade also features a selection of dining as well as a movie theater in addition to amenities like an ice skating rink, a children’s play area and a sculpture park.
